Third-party No Labels planning 2024 nominating convention in April
The No Labels third party announced Sunday that it plans to hold a nominating convention in April for the 2024 presidential election.
Former Sen. Joe Lieberman, the founding chair of the centrist group, said on Fox News Sunday that the group is looking to select its nominee for 2024 in Dallas in April 2024.
“We already have scheduled a bipartisan convention," Lieberman said. "Think about it. We haven’t seen that ever in recent history. A bipartisan nominating convention for Dallas, Texas, in April of next year.”
He added that the group's main priority currently is seeing whether or not they have a path to victory; a path they increasingly believe is open.
“Our plan is to only run if we think we have a chance to win realistically,” Lieberman said. “And look, we just finished a poll of 10,000 voters in the eight battleground states. And we give them a choice of Trump, Biden, and a moderate independent third choice, and 63 percent say that they’re open to a moderate Independent third choice.”
