Migrants ‘displacing’ military families for Army-Navy Game, according to GOP lawmaker

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is urging President Joe Biden to address the situation at the southern border after reports emerged that military families who had made reservations for the upcoming Army-Navy Game in Foxboro, Massachusetts, had their bookings canceled due to hotels being used to house undocumented immigrants.

In a letter obtained by Fox News, Ernst criticized the president, attributing the cancellations to the administration's decision to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities across the country, funded by taxpayers.

The senator from Iowa expressed concern that nearly eight million illegal immigrants have been allowed entry into the United States, resulting in veterans, future service members, and their families being unable to attend this year's game.

Massachusetts has a "right to shelter" law, which mandates temporary housing for migrants and homeless families in the state.

CBS News previously reported that hotels near Gillette Stadium in Foxborough had canceled multiple reservations for Army-Navy Game attendees due to an ongoing partnership between Giri Hotel Management and the state to provide housing for migrants.

Ernst's letter to the Biden administration emphasized the significance of the Army-Navy Game, describing it as a recruitment mechanism and an opportunity to showcase the exceptional young servicemembers of the Corps of Cadets and Brigade of Midshipmen. She stressed that the game allows attendees, particularly veterans, to honor the next generation of America's military.

The senator criticized the Biden administration's border policies, holding it responsible for the surge in crime and the migrant housing crisis in cities across the United States.

Ernst also stated that the mismanagement at the border is causing American cities to be overwhelmed and vital resources to be strained beyond capacity. She called on the president to fulfill his obligation to secure the border seriously.
