Employees at Right-Wing Network Opt Out of Participation in Pro-Trump Rap Video, Exiting Newsroom
According to The Daily Beast, some employees at One America News Network (OAN) allegedly left the newsroom to avoid being featured in a rap video that supports Donald Trump.
The video was recorded at OAN's newsroom and features Republican rapper Forgiato Blow and OAN host Dan Ball criticizing the latest indictment against former President Trump in Georgia.
In the video, Ball awkwardly dances with the rapper, while OAN staff tear up papers with "Trump Indictment #4" written on them. OAN founder Robert Herring, who is 82 years old, also appears in the video wearing sunglasses and standing next to a man in a bullet-proof vest.
The song includes lyrics like "Indicting presidents, that's not right. If questioning the outcome of an election is a crime, then give me life!" Blow praises Ball as the "prince of prime time."
While the video received over 1,500 likes on YouTube, some employees at OAN reportedly did not want to be a part of it. The Daily Beast's Confider newsletter reported that these employees walked out of the newsroom before filming. Others who did appear in the video were allegedly unaware of the shoot until the last minute and went along with it.
“I need to leave OAN ASAP! I am sick and tired of Dan Ball’s antics, and so are so many others behind the scenes,” an unnamed OAN anchor told the Daily Beast, “while other “current and former staffers” called the video “bizarre” and said they were “officially taking OAN off my resume after watching this.”
