Chairman of Colorado Republican State Party and CD5 Candidate Embraces Dominion Voting Equipment for Party Assembly Elections

Colorado Republican Party Chair Dave Williams is facing accusations of hypocrisy as he explores the possibility of using Dominion voting machines for the party's upcoming state assembly, despite his previous criticism of the company.

Williams, who has been vocal about his concerns regarding Dominion's influence on elections, recently reached out to El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Steve Schleiker for assistance with the elections at the state party assembly.

In a text message obtained by Colorado Politics, Williams stated, "We need to contract with a clerk to administer paper ballots for the State Assembly."  Read the full Colorado Politics story HERE.

Williams also requested 3,500 paper ballots to be machine-counted for timely results.

While Williams claimed that no decisions have been made and that he is seeking quotes and information on the matter, his actions raise questions about his stance on Dominion voting machines.

Williams has been a vocal critic of Dominion, calling for an end to their use in Colorado elections. He has alleged that the machines were rigged in favor of President Joe Biden during the 2020 election. In fact, he endorsed a candidate for El Paso County Clerk and Recorder in 2022, stating that the candidate was the only one who would eliminate Dominion machines.

Furthermore, during his time in the Colorado House, Williams attempted to pass HR22-1004, which included a section urging the end of electronic voting systems, including Dominion Voting Systems, in Colorado elections.

These actions and statements raise doubts about Williams' sudden change of heart regarding Dominion or highlight the hypocrisy of the current Colorado State Party Chair.

The inconsistency in Williams' stance on Dominion voting machines raises concerns about his credibility and commitment to his principles. It is essential for public officials to maintain consistency in their positions, especially when it comes to matters as crucial as election integrity. By exploring the use of Dominion machines for the state party assembly, Williams risks undermining his own credibility and inviting accusations of hypocrisy.

As the Republican Party continues to navigate the post-2020 election landscape, it is crucial for leaders like Williams to uphold their principles and maintain consistency in their actions.

The party's supporters and the general public deserve leaders who demonstrate unwavering commitment to election integrity. Any perceived hypocrisy can damage the party's credibility and hinder its efforts to regain trust and confidence from the American people.

Whether Williams has genuinely had a change of heart regarding Dominion or is exhibiting hypocrisy, it is a matter that warrants further scrutiny.

As the Colorado State Party Chair, Williams should be held accountable for his actions and statements, ensuring that he upholds the values and principles he claims to champion. Only through consistent and principled leadership can the Republican Party effectively advocate for election integrity and regain the trust of Coloradans.
