Border Crisis Continues as Denver Receives 3,200 Migrant Buses this Year

Denver is one of six major cities where the Texas governor, Greg Abbott, has been busing migrants that arrive at the border.

Denver has received over 3,200 migrants on buses in less than a year, according to data coming out of Governor Abbott's office.

This is just a fraction of the total number of migrants that have been transported by Texas to other states. In fact, the Lone Star State has sent more than 1,130 buses north since April 2022, as reported by the Associated Press.

But Abbott is not alone in his efforts to control the crisis at the border. Governors from other states, including Florida and Arizona, have also been under fire for their involvement in transporting migrants without visas to other areas.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis caused outrage when he flew dozens of migrants and asylum seekers to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts and Sacramento, California over the past year and a half. Similarly, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has disclosed that more than 15,000 people have been transported within the state and to other states since the start of the year.

But perhaps most concerning is the revelation that even cities are getting involved in this migrant transportation scheme. Denver, for example, has been forced to cut the time some migrants are allowed to stay in shelters due to the overwhelming pace of arrivals. And local schools are struggling to cope with an influx of English language learners, as reported by Axios Denver.

All of this is a direct result of President Biden's failure to secure the border and address the crisis. In a recent trip to New York, Abbott did not mince words when he called the situation at the border a "crisis" and pointed the finger at the current administration. "It's chaotic and it must stop," he stated. "Texas is going to continue to use every tool that we can to secure the border the best that we can."

It is clear that something needs to be done to address this growing problem, and until then, states like Texas will continue to do whatever it takes to protect their citizens and ensure the safety and security of their communities.

Denver and other cities and states have now been added to the list of destinations for migrants, causing disruptions and strain on local resources. As the crisis at the border continues, one can only hope for a swift and effective solution from the Biden administration. But until then, the burden falls upon states and cities across the nation to deal with the consequences of this ongoing crisis.
