WATCH: Whether you believe Trump was met with cheers or jeers seems to depend on party affiliation

According to multiple sources, former President Donald Trump received a warm reception when he arrived at Williams-Brice Stadium for the South Carolina-Clemson football game Saturday.

Despite being met with, from the video posted online, cheers and chants of "We want Trump!" from fans, some social media reports have left many wondering if the former president was received with cheers or jeers?

As a proud conservative state that Trump won twice in the presidential elections, South Carolina was undoubtedly pleased to have the former commander-in-chief in attendance at the Palmetto Bowl, the state's biggest sporting event of the year.

His visit was especially significant as the Gamecocks hosted not only their biggest rival, Clemson, but also a former governor and potential Republican opponent, Nikki Haley, in their home turf.

Amidst the cheers and excitement, there were also signs of opposition towards Trump. Electronic billboards around the city of Columbia boasted messages reminding Trump of his election loss and ongoing legal cases.

Vendors were also selling Trump merchandise from the previous election, further highlighting the current divide in the country.

Despite these mixed reactions, Trump has found a warm reception in the South and Midwest, where he has traditionally been received very well. This can be seen through his frequent attendance at college football games and even receiving a standing ovation at UFC 295 in New York, where he was joined by conservative media personality Tucker Carlson and musician Kid Rock.

However, while his presence at these events may bring excitement to his supporters, the former president still faces numerous legal battles, including a civil fraud trial in New York and four criminal indictments.
