Speaker Mike Johnson Calls for Federal Employees Participating in this weekend’s Violent D.C. Pro-Palestinian Walkout to be Fired

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has taken a stand against all federal employees who plan to participate in a walkout to protest of the Biden administration's Israel policy.

Johnson firmly believes that those who choose to walk off the job and protest U.S. support for our ally Israel should face the consequences of their actions, including termination from their positions.

Responding to the planned walkout, which is expected to take place on Tuesday, Johnson took to X, to express his concerns, Johnson vowed to collaborate with House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) to ensure that federal agencies take appropriate disciplinary action against all participants.

Johnson stated, "Any government worker who walks off the job to protest U.S. support for our ally Israel is ignoring their responsibility and abusing the trust of taxpayers. They deserve to be fired."

He further added, "Oversight Chairman Comer and I will be working together to ensure that each federal agency initiates appropriate disciplinary proceedings against any person who walks out on their job."

The planned walkout is being organized by a group calling itself Feds United for Peace. According to Al-Monitor, this walkout is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16th, which marks 101 days since the beginning of the War in Gaza.

Feds United for Peace claims that employees from 22 different federal agencies, including the Departments of Defense, State, and Homeland Security, will be participating.

This call for action by Speaker Johnson has sparked a fierce debate among lawmakers and the public. While some argue that federal employees have the right to express their opinions through peaceful protests, others, like Johnson, believe that walking out on their responsibilities is a breach of trust and an abuse of taxpayer dollars.
