Snoop Dogg Has a Change of Heart for Former President Donald Trump

Snoop Dogg, the legendary rapper and sometimes vocal Trump critic, appears to have had a change of heart regarding the 45th president of the United States. After years of publicly condemning both Donald Trump and his supporters, Snoop Dogg now hints that their longstanding feud may be a thing of the past.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Snoop Dogg revealed a different perspective on the former president, stating, "Donald Trump? He ain't done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me."

The Doggystyle star specifically pointed to Trump's 2021 decision to pardon Michael "Harry-O" Harris, the cofounder of Death Row Records, who had served time for attempted murder and drug offenses. Harris spent 30 years behind bars for the drug charge before Trump granted him and 73 others a pardon.

Expressing his newfound admiration, Snoop Dogg continued, "I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump." The significance of Trump's pardon of Harris is not lost on Snoop, as Death Row Records was the first label to sign the rapper, who would later go on to acquire the record label in 2022.

When news of Harris' pardon reached Snoop Dogg, he applauded the president's actions, stating, "That's great work for the president and his team on the way out. They did some great work while they were in there, and they did some great work on their way out. Let them know that I love what they did," as reported by the New York Post.

This change in attitude marks a notable shift for Snoop Dogg, who previously depicted shooting a clown dressed as Trump in the music video for his 2017 remix of the BadBadNotGood song "Lavender."

The rapper also referenced the then-president in his satirical song "M.A.C.A" ("Make America Crip Again") with lyrics that expressed his disapproval. Additionally, Snoop Dogg named his 2017 EP Make America Crip Again, further emphasizing his stance against Trump.

As recently as 2020, Snoop Dogg referred to Trump as a "f---ing weirdo" and made his feelings clear by stating, "If you voted for him, I have no problem with that, but if you're still with him, f--- you." Trump himself responded to the controversial "Lavender" music video, criticizing Snoop Dogg in a tweet and suggesting potential legal consequences for such actions.

When asked about his voting preference in a potential 2024 election rematch between Trump and Biden, Snoop Dogg declined to comment, leaving his political stance ambiguous.
