Rep. Lauren Boebert Avoids Voters After Ex-Husband Threatens to Toss Belongings into Pond
Embattled Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert continues to face seemingly insurmountable family challenges as she “seat shops” for a possibly more favorable congressional district and another term in the U.S. Congress at all costs.
But even as she navigates poor polling in a new district, Boebert was recently forced to skip a crucial campaign event due to bizarre new threats from her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert.
The Colorado Republican is well known for her messy divorce, absence groping during a Denver musical performance of “Beetlejuice,” and more recently, her 18-year-old son facing charges for multiple property theft incidents.
Now, according to the Washington Post’s Ben Terris, Boebert was scheduled to appear at a local coffee shop in Colorado to address a gathering of local Republicans in February. However, she failed to show up at the event. Terris reports that her campaign manager stepped in to fill her absence, explaining that Boebert was “dealing with a pressing matter.”
As the Post reports, Boebert had returned to her former district that morning to collect her remaining belongings from a farmhouse on their shared property. The farmhouse had become her residence during the unraveling of her marriage. However, her ex-husband, upon her arrival, allegedly informed her that she could find her belongings "at the bottom of the pond."
Although this apparently turned out to be false, Boebert claims that he had removed her belongings without her consent and placed them in a storage trailer. She subsequently contacted the police and obtained a temporary restraining order.
When reached for comment, Boebert's husband and his legal representatives remained silent on the matter, declining to respond to inquiries about the incident, according to the Washington Post.
