Polis’ Failed School PR Stunt
Governor Jared Polis may have thought his visit to Aspen Creek PreK-8 School in Broomfield was a public relations success, but it seems not everyone was pleased with his actions.
The governor's personal Instagram page featured photos and a glowing description of his time at the school, where he announced plans to provide more support for Colorado teachers to obtain necessary classroom supplies. However, the visit sparked controversy and criticism from parents across the state.
Social media users didn't hold back in their criticism of the governor's visit, with some accusing him of using it as a mere publicity stunt. One user commented, "Vanity tour 2023," implying that Polis was more interested in promoting himself than actually supporting educators.
Another user shared their personal experience of feeling unsupported by their district and ultimately leaving the teaching profession, highlighting the struggles faced by many educators in Colorado, “I got out of teaching because I was NOT supported by my district. Even when a student made a credible threat against me. Education is in trouble.”
It is clear that not everyone was impressed by Polis' visit and his promises to improve the education system in Colorado. And for those who opposed the governor's approach, it may be concerning to know that he could potentially stay in office until 2027, leaving room for more divisive actions and remarks in the future.
