Joe Biden's Thanksgiving Message Interrupted by Woman Dressed as Plane
As Americans across the country gathered with their loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving, the holiday was briefly interrupted by a bizarre scene at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York City. During a live interview with Al Roker, Joe and Jill Biden were interrupted by a woman dressed as a plane, dancing and waving her arms in the background.
The 69-year-old Today Show host, who made an emotional return to the parade after missing last year's event due to health issues, looked visibly shocked as the unidentified woman pranced past. The president and first lady, however, remained unshaken continued with their Thanksgiving message to the American people.
Biden declared that "there's nothing beyond our capacity" and emphasized the importance of giving thanks for the blessings of living in the "greatest nation on the face of the Earth." Meanwhile, Jill Biden encouraged viewers to carry out acts of kindness on this holiday.
While the interruption may have added some levity to the parade, it also served as a reminder of the constant and often bizarre distractions that have plagued the Biden presidency. From botched withdrawals from Afghanistan to soaring inflation and a crisis at the southern border, the president has struggled to maintain a sense of control and credibility.
Some X users and media outlets noted Biden’s recent plea for an end to national "rancor" on the holiday was undercut by his campaign’s anti-Trump supporter Thanksgiving post shared the same day.
While speaking to NBC News anchor Al Roker on air ahead of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday, Biden urged unity among all Americans.
"On this Thanksgiving, Al, we have to come together. We can have different political views, but we have one view. The one view is that we’re the finest, greatest nation in the world. We should focus on that," he said.
The clip of the awkward interview moment was quickly shared on social media, drawing over 600,000 views on The Today Show's official account on X. Biden also shared his Thanksgiving message on X, thanking service members and first responders for their sacrifices.
