Investigation Launched into Alleged Physical Altercation Involving “Seat Shopper” Rep. Lauren Boebert
The Silt Police Department has opened an active investigation into Rep. Lauren Boebert following reports of a physical altercation with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, at a restaurant in her district.
While details of the incident are still emerging, witnesses at the scene have confirmed that a heated argument took place, during which Rep. Boebert allegedly landed at least one punch to her ex-husband's face.

The investigation was confirmed by the Silt PD, who acknowledged that they are actively looking into the matter but declined to provide further details. A spokesperson for Rep. Boebert confirmed the incident but stated that no arrests were made in connection with the alleged altercation.
According to a Boebert aide, Jayson Boebert called the police to the Miner's Claim restaurant in Silt, claiming to be a victim of domestic violence. However, the aide emphasized that Rep. Boebert denies any allegations of domestic violence and asserts that the events depicted in social media posts on Saturday were not accurate.
According to the aide, the altercation occurred after Rep. Boebert had gone to her ex-husband's house to pick up one of their sons for dinner at her mother's house. As they were leaving for the car, Jayson Boebert allegedly attempted to hug her, but Rep. Boebert placed her hand on his chest to keep him at a distance.
Later in the evening, Jayson Boebert called to apologize and suggested meeting in person. Rep. Boebert agreed but insisted on meeting in a public place, anticipating potential confrontations given the earlier alleged behavior. They chose to meet at Miner's Claim, a restaurant in Rep. Boebert's hometown of Silt.
According to the aide, an argument ensued at the restaurant, with Jayson Boebert behaving disrespectfully, being confrontational, and making inappropriate comments. The aide stated that Rep. Boebert found his behavior revolting, which seemed to further escalate the situation. The altercation between the two involved physical contact, the severity of which remains unclear.
The aide recounted that Jayson Boebert made an aggressive move towards Rep. Boebert, attempting to grab her. In response, Rep. Boebert tried to keep him at bay “by putting her hand in his face and on his nose.”

When contacted by The Daily Beast, Jayson Boebert declined to confirm the occurrence of the altercation, stating, "I don't know what to say."
The rumor of the incident was first shared by an anti-Boebert super PAC called "American Muckrakers" through posts on X.
As the investigation unfolds, Rep. Boebert's judgment and conduct will likely face scrutiny. Critics argue that this alleged incident is another example of her lack of sound judgment and temperament, which have been subject to controversy throughout her political career.
