GoFundMe Launched to Support Trump's Legal Battle Against "Unfair Treatment" in New York Fraud Case
In a show of solidarity and support for former President Donald Trump, an online fundraiser on GoFundMe has been launched to help alleviate the mounting legal fees resulting from the recent civil fraud case ruling in New York.
The fundraiser, initiated by Elena Cardone, wife of investor Grant Cardone, hopes to raise $355 million – the staggering amount that Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay in penalties following the verdict.
With over $185,000 already raised from more than 4,000 donors, the GoFundMe seeks to assist Trump in facing the financial repercussions of the court's decision, which, with interest, could exceed $450 million as indicated by the New York attorney general's office.
Elena Cardone, in a statement on the fundraising page, expressed unwavering support for Trump, denouncing what she perceives as unjust and unprecedented treatment by certain judicial elements in New York.
"The recent legal battles he faces are not just an attack on him, but an attack on the very ideals of fairness and due process that every American deserves," Cardone asserted, highlighting the broader implications of the ongoing legal challenges confronting the former president.
The financial penalty imposed on Trump comes on the heels of previous legal setbacks, including a defamation ruling that required him to pay $83.3 million to writer E. Jean Carroll, with an additional $5 million ordered last year.

Reacting to the latest verdict, Trump's legal team characterized the decision as a "politically fueled witch hunt," emphasizing their intention to appeal the ruling and contest the perceived biases underlying the judicial outcomes.
The fundraising efforts reflects support for Trump among his backers and allies, who view the legal battles as emblematic of a broader struggle against perceived injustices and partisan motivations within the legal system.
