Former uber liberal CNN news anchor Don Lemon claims new ‘X’ show will feature ‘honest debate,’ critics are skeptical

Controversial former CNN journalist Don Lemon has made headlines once again, this time with the announcement of his new show on X (formerly Twitter). But the question on many people's minds is whether Lemon can produce an online show that is actually watchable, given his track record of controversy and questionable behavior.

Lemon, who was booted off of CNN in April 2023 after a series of sexist comments and allegations of misogyny towards female colleagues, seems to be attempting a comeback in the world of online streaming.

In his announcement, Lemon called the social media platform "the biggest space for free speech in the world." However, many conservatives question whether Lemon's definition of "free speech" aligns with their own.

The announcement of Lemon's new show raises concerns about the quality and content that viewers can expect. Can Lemon deliver honest debate and discussion without the need for "hall monitors," as he claims? Or will his show simply be a platform for his own biased viewpoints and personal agenda? Given Lemon's history of controversial statements and his tendency to push a liberal narrative, it is reasonable to question the objectivity and fairness of his future content.

Lemon's show is not the only addition to X's streaming platform. The company has also announced a content deal with sports radio host Jim Rome, as part of CEO Elon Musk's efforts to offer brand-safe locations for advertisers. Musk's move towards exclusive streaming video is seen by some as an attempt to win back advertisers, as the platform has faced a significant decline in value since his acquisition.

A recent report by Bloomberg estimated the value of X (formerly Twitter) had fallen by 72% since Elon Musk bought it in late 2022.
