Official Denver Twitter Account Solicits Tweets, Gets More Than It Bargained For
On Saturday, Feb. 17th the City and County of Denver twitter account asked a seemingly innocuous question to its followers. The author of the tweet must not have predicted the obvious responses they would receive- an outpouring of rage, humor and disgust by Denver residents and visitors alike surrounding the all-time epidemics of homelessness and crime in the once-desirable metro area.

The responses largely followed the same trend of disapproval for Mike Johnston’s handling of the homelessness and immigrant problems that have devolved into utter lawlessness in Colorado’s capitol city. Here are a few of our favorite responses:
We made the mistake of going to a high-end restaurant off the 16th Street Malll on Christmas Eve. I was legitimately scared for my family as we walked by multiple homeless and drug addicts yelling at us. That was the end of us going into Denver.

The failures of the Johnston administration have become more and more apparent as crime and lawlessness continue to push businesses, families and young working professionals to the fringes of the city. With no end in sight for Denver’s woes, perhaps Denver’s PR team should read the room.
