Denver International Airport's Root Down Takes the Cake for Best Airport Restaurant
Denver International Airport (DIA) has once again proven to be a hub of excellence with its highly rated dining options. In fact, DIA was recently named as one of the top airports with the best provisions by Food and Wine, earning the prestigious Editor's Choice award.
With long wait times, delayed flights, and layovers, travelers are always on the lookout for good food options. Root Down at DIA has become a must-visit spot for those seeking delicious and convenient airport meals. Not only is it nationally recognized as the best sit-down restaurant, but it also ranks as the top spot for convenience food and bar.
Even USA Today took notice, as Root Down was voted as the 8th best grab-and-go spot in the nation in a poll of their viewers. The restaurant offers both grab-and-go and sit-down options, with equally delicious and satisfying food. This versatility has also earned Root Down the title of the best place to eat, according to the local news outlets.
In an August 2023 review of DIA's highest-rated restaurants, Root Down dominated the list with over 4.2 stars and the highest number of reviews on Google. This comes as no surprise as the restaurant has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
Aside from their “mouth-watering” food options, Root Down also boasts “a luxurious and well-stocked bar.” The bar came 10th in the country in terms of the most luxurious airport bars, according to recent rankings.
The menu features a traditional selection of wine and beer, but also offers signature cocktails using local favorites such as Colorado's Palisade Peach. And the cherry on top? The drinks can be taken to-go for a refreshing pre-flight pick-me-up.
