A Colorado Springs store employee is now fighting for his life after being struck by a car driven by a theft suspect.

The incident occurred on Sunday, December 17, at the Bomb Headshop located on Fillmore Street in the west side of town. The employee, identified as Devin Davidson by store manager Daniel Hardt, is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.

According to Hardt, Davidson faces a long road to recovery. He explained to KKTV, "Right now, he does have some bleeding of the brain, and so they have him in ICU trying to get that under control and prevent further pressure on the brain and bleeding."

Hardt also mentioned the need to monitor for potential complications such as blood clots. The medical team is closely watching over Davidson's condition.

The Colorado Springs store manager expressed his gratitude towards the customers who were present in the store during the incident. Thanks to their quick response, Davidson was able to receive immediate medical attention after being run over. Their prompt actions likely played a crucial role in ensuring that Davidson received the help he needed.

The Colorado Springs Police Department has issued a reminder to the public regarding personal safety in situations involving suspected criminals. They strongly advise against confronting individuals suspected of committing a crime. Instead, they recommend calling 911 to report the incident and allowing the police to handle the situation.

In support of Davidson's family and to assist with his medical expenses, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up by Hardt. They hope the effort will provide financial assistance during this challenging time.
