Colorado GOP's Hail Mary: Inviting Delusional Defeated Candidate to Headline Fundraiser

Despite the abysmal fundraising efforts under the leadership of current chair Dave Williams, the Colorado Republican State Party has invited Arizona Republican Kari Lake to headline their biggest fundraising event of the year.

Lake, a former news anchor, who lost the Arizona gubernatorial race and has continued to refuse to concede. Despite the fact that she was beaten by over 17,000 votes, Lake has clung to the false belief that she won and has even launched legal battles in an attempt to challenge the results.

Lake doesn’t have a wide appeal nor is she an inspiring speaker for a party struggling to gain momentum in the increasingly blue Centennial State.

And while pundits may have put her on the list of potential running mates for Trump in 2024, there is no evidence that she will be a major draw among Republican donors who would be willing to shell out $125 for a chance to hear her speak at the fundraising dinner.

The state GOP claims they have also invited all "major" Republican presidential candidates to speak at the event, but it's highly unlikely that any of them will waste their time attending an event headlined by a losing candidate known for her false claims of a stolen election.

In fact, the desperation of the Colorado Republican Party is evident in their recent move to cancel next year's state-level primary election. This plan, endorsed by Lake in a letter circulated by the party, has already been shot down by the state's central committee and it's uncertain if it will even pass.

One can't help but wonder if this invitation to Lake is a last-ditch effort by the struggling state party to gain some much-needed attention and financial support. With their past attempts to "opt out" of Colorado's semi-open primaries consistently failing, it's clear that the party is grasping at straws for a way to stay relevant.

Under the poor leadership of Williams, the Colorado Republican State Party's fundraising efforts have been lackluster at best. And this desperate attempt to bring in someone like Lake, known for her controversial beliefs and actions, only further proves the party's weak and misguided efforts.
