Challenger Outpaces Incumbent Rep. Lauren Boebert in Fundraising Race

It seems like Colorado's 3rd Congressional District is heating up as challenger Adam Frisch continues to pull in record-breaking fundraising numbers, while incumbent Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert is falling behind. Frisch, a former Aspen city councilman, has raised a whopping $3.4 million in the third quarter alone and has received over 100,000 individual contributions - with an average donation of just $32. This is a stark contrast to Boebert's campaign, which has yet to release her third quarter fundraising totals.

Frisch's fundraising success is not a fluke either. He has consistently outpaced Boebert in every quarter, raising over $7.75 million since launching his bid in February - nearly as much as Boebert raised throughout the entirety of the previous election cycle.

This has caught the attention of political experts, with the Cook Political Report moving the race into the toss-up column due to Frisch's fundraising advantage and Boebert's combative approach to politics.

Not only is Frisch gaining momentum, but Boebert also faces challenges from within her own party. Grand Junction attorney Jeff Hurd has thrown his hat into the ring. And in addition to Frisch, fellow Democrat Grand Junction Mayor Anna Stout is running and seasoned third-party candidate Gary Swing is hoping to win on the Unity Party ticket. This could potentially split the vote and give Frisch an even greater chance of unseating Boebert in the general election.

Boebert's campaign manager, Drew Sexton, tried to downplay Frisch's impressive fundraising numbers, but his statement only highlights the growing concerns about Boebert's performance in the district. Sexton seems to acknowledge that Frisch is a formidable opponent, as he hints at Frisch's portrayal as a “phony businessman" and the possibility of drawbacks in his past record and positions on issues.

With recent polling showing a statistical tie between Frisch and Boebert, it's clear that Frisch could be the one to unseat Boebert.
