The suspect, identified as Hugo Salazar Hernandez, 39, has become the subject of a national arrest warrant on numerous counts of theft and burglary. The case gained attention back in July when the police shared photos of the alleged suspect, leading to his identification. Since then, authorities have been diligently working to bring the Colorado underwear thief to justice.

According to the Lakewood Police Department, Hernandez is believed to have stolen laundry from the Lakeview Towers apartment complex on multiple occasions, committing these acts of theft dozens of times.

A search of Hernandez's residence yielded over 500 “items of evidence,” primarily consisting of stolen underwear. These items, estimated to be worth nearly $30,000, belong to more than 30 victims ranging in age from 6 to 69 years old.

The investigation into Hernandez's activities has been ongoing for over three years. In July, the Lakewood police informed FOX31 that Hernandez is not a known resident of the complex. Instead, he targeted laundry rooms on each floor of the Lakeview Towers at Belmar Apartments, located in the 600 block of South Reed Street.
