President Joe Biden faced backlash during his visit to Pueblo, Colorado on Wednesday as he took on right-wing Republican lawmaker, Lauren Boebert. Boebert, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, has been a vocal opponent of Biden's policies and has faced criticism for her controversial actions.

Biden arrived in Colorado to tout his economic and clean energy policies, highlighting the state's booming wind energy industry. However, his visit took a combative turn as he directly addressed Boebert's positions and actions.

In a fundraising event in Denver on Tuesday, Biden blamed Trump for taking away women’s right to abortion. He then turned his attention to Boebert, stating that she represents the dangerous threat that Trump and his followers pose to American democracy.

Boebert, a self-proclaimed "MAGA Republican," has been a vocal supporter of Trump and his agenda. However, her actions and statements have been met with criticism from both Democrats and Republicans alike.

Just this year, Boebert introduced a failed impeachment vote against Biden, tried to stop the certification of the 2020 presidential election, and made headlines for carrying a gun inside the U.S. Capitol.

During his visit to a wind tower manufacturer in Boebert's congressional district, Biden took a direct aim at the congresswoman, citing her as a prime example of the dangerous impact of Trump's rhetoric.

The White House stated that Biden's speech would "highlight how self-described MAGA Republicans like Representative Lauren Boebert are threatening investments, jobs, and opportunities in the clean energy industry."

Biden's goal of deploying 30,000 megawatts of offshore wind along U.S. coastlines this decade has faced challenges due to soaring costs and supply chain delays. This failure to achieve his goal has been a point of criticism for his opponents, including Boebert.

As Biden continues to face declining approval ratings and struggles to push his agenda forward, this contentious visit serves as a reminder that the struggle for Biden to find traction among voters, even in a state he easily won, is real.
