Be a Super Bowl Fan and How to Earn Six Figures as Pizza Influencer

It’s Super Bowl weekend and local businesses across the country are gearing up for the high demand that comes with game day. For millions of Americans, Sunday is all about football, friends, and, of course, good food. And when it comes to game day eats, there's one dish that reigns supreme: PIZZA!

Americans love pizza, and on Super Bowl Sunday, it's predicted that a staggering 12.5 million pizzas will be purchased, according to Forbes.

In fact, this week leading up to the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day sees more pizza sales in the U.S. than any other week. It's no wonder pizza joints are hustling to meet the demand and keep hungry football fans satisfied.

But the love for pizza goes beyond just devouring it. In the age of social media, the world of online pizza creators and influencers is thriving. Dude, pizza has mega followers and influencers!

Pizza has become a photogenic sensation, with its drippy cheese pulls and mouthwatering toppings. There are even published lists of the top pizza influencers who have gained a massive following by sharing their love for this beloved food – and some of the best are making six figures.

Monica Wojnilo, also known as @PizzaBlonde on Instagram, has amassed an impressive 33,000 followers.

Celebrity pizza chef Tony Gemignani, with his mouthwatering creations, has garnered a following of 107,000 on Instagram under the handle @capopizza.

And let's not forget Steve Dolinsky, the Chicago pizza tour operator, who shares his pizza adventures with 38,000 followers as @pizzacityusa.

According to a recent article from Axios, pizza influencing has become a legitimate career path, with opportunities popping up in the industry. Slice, an online ordering platform, recently advertised a job opening for a "pizza influencer" with a salary of up to $110,000 a year, plus a weekly pizza stipend.

Even Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, has a separate pizza-reviewing operation on YouTube and TikTok, boasting 1.2 million subscribers and 3.4 million followers, respectively.

While estimates of how much pizza the average American consumes in a year vary widely, one poll by Amazon Fresh suggests it's around 180 slices annually.

Regardless of the exact number, there's unanimous agreement that the most popular pizza topping is pepperoni, followed closely by sausage, mushroom, extra cheese, and, making its debut in the top five in 2024, bacon, according to Pizza Today, a trade publication.
